The Asheville Darkroom is a 501c3 non-profit organization that stays afloat through membership fees, annual benefits, crowd-sourcing fundraisers and individual donations. Your tax-deductible contribution assures that Asheville has a place to study darkroom photography, and supports our goal to one day expand into a full photographic arts center for our region.
We happily accept donations of film and paper, expired or no — please email us if so. We also gladly accept functional cameras for use with our classes. Otherwise, we are thankfully well-stocked and have little storage space for extra equipment, so we do not take donations of full darkrooms. We are not currently accepting enlargers. Our current needs include:
- Metal 35mm developing tanks for three-reels and more
- An archival 16×20 print washer
- Large chemical storage containers (5 gallon, 2 gallon, with spigots)
We will consider donations of other equipment than those listed above based on our needs and storage availability. If you have other equipment you would like us to consider for donation, please fill out this form and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Please do not leave unsolicited donations on our doorstep!
